Why we’re building C4Y

Teaching starts before a class and continues after it ends. C4Y connects the materials, the live explanation, the learner’s work, and the feedback in one workspace. We’re building software that helps educators keep that context and put it to use.

Why this role matters

An educator should be able to prepare a lesson, teach it, and return to a learner’s work without reconstructing the context each time. You’ll build the interfaces and services that make that continuity possible. This role spans the product: the experience on screen, the data behind it, and the behavior when a class is already in progress.

What you’ll work on

  • Build lesson-planning interfaces for arranging slides, files, media, activities, and private teaching notes.
  • Develop APIs and data models for courses, assignments, submissions, and instructor feedback.
  • Make whiteboard state, file handling, and saved revisions dependable across sessions.
  • Implement clear access boundaries between shared materials, private notes, and individual learner work.
  • Follow a feature from prototype through release, including accessibility, performance, and failure recovery.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience shipping web applications across frontend and backend boundaries.
  • A practical understanding of API design, relational data, authorization, and asynchronous behavior.
  • Care for interfaces that remain understandable when the underlying workflow becomes complex.
  • The habit of testing failure cases and explaining implementation decisions clearly.

Projects you could take on

  • Make a lesson flow easier to prepare and reuse for another class.
  • Connect an assignment’s instructions, submission history, and feedback in one view.
  • Improve how a classroom recovers and preserves its work after a connection interruption.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll work with design and deployment colleagues to understand what educators are trying to do, then turn that context into product decisions.
