Why we’re building C4Y

Teaching starts before a class and continues after it ends. C4Y connects the materials, the live explanation, the learner’s work, and the feedback in one workspace. We’re building software that helps educators keep that context and put it to use.

Why this role matters

A generated explanation only helps if it fits the concept, the learner, and the lesson. You’ll build the preparation workflows and evaluation tools that make that judgment easier. The work includes generation, structured outputs, previews, editing, and the deliberate step between drafting material and sharing it.

What you’ll work on

  • Build generation workflows for explanations, graphs, and practice questions.
  • Create structured outputs that can be inspected and edited inside a lesson.
  • Develop evaluation sets for correctness, clarity, level of difficulty, and relevance.
  • Measure latency and cost, investigate failures, and improve how the product handles uncertain or incomplete results.
  • Keep educator review and access boundaries explicit throughout the preparation workflow.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience building software around language models or other generative systems.
  • An understanding of structured generation, evaluation, and the limits of model outputs.
  • The ability to connect model behavior with a useful product experience.
  • A careful approach to educational accuracy, user context, and iterative measurement.

Projects you could take on

  • Turn a teaching objective into an editable explanation and a short practice activity.
  • Build an evaluation set that catches incorrect worked solutions and misleading explanations.
  • Improve a preview so an educator can revise material before inserting it into a lesson.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll work with product engineering and design to make model behavior visible, useful, and controllable in the educator’s workspace.
